The Star Nursing Home is situated in the heart of Peterborough in Star Road.  The home offers an ideal choice for a nursing home which is a comfortable alternative lifestyle.  The home has a safe, enclosed garden for Service Users to enjoy.

The nursing services are provided by a skilled and dedicated team of qualified nursing staff, health care assistants and ancillary staff led by an experienced Registered Manager.  We provide nursing care and support for people with complex health and social care needs.  Our friendly and professional staff team are trained and competent to provide all Service Users with safe, high standards of quality nursing care.

We offer rehabilitation support to enable our Service Users to regain confidence in functionality, and to become as independent as possible for them to reintegrate into the community.  We support individuals in every aspect of daily living which includes physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual well-being.  We have a dedicated full-time Activity coordinator, who provides tailored activity programmes for each Service User.

Our staff provide services to people of all faiths and we believe that we strive to meet all Service Users’ spiritual and cultural needs.  Prior to admission, we encourage any potential Service Users to visit the home, meet other Service Users and our friendly team prior to making an informed choice and decision of where to live.

During our comprehensive pre-admission assessments (conducted by qualified nurses), we establish your specific needs and will collaborate with others either family or friends as directed by you.

​

Although our bedrooms are fully furnished, the decor may be changed to suit the Service User’s specific needs and preference.  We encourage Service Users to bring their own possessions or small items of furniture (should they wish to personalise their rooms).  We have an open-door policy for family and friends to visit and become involved in the daily lives and activities of our Service Users.

 

The company’s philosophy aims to provide a high standard of quality care in a homely environment, reflecting an ethos of respect for people by treating them with dignity and ensuring their right to privacy, safety and security are maintained.

Effective care and support require a multidisciplinary approach; therefore, we work closely with a network of health and social care professionals to promote and maintain Service Users’ good health and well-being.

The city centre is a ten-minute walk away from the home, alternatively a regular bus service runs directly to the centre of the city.  There’s a mainline railway service to central London that is easily accessible, and only a five-minute drive from the home.
