Andrew brings a strong and diverse background across custodial, adult care, and children’s residential services, underpinned by a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
He began his career working within a prison environment, where he developed advanced skills in risk management, maintaining professional boundaries, and supporting individuals who present with complex and challenging behaviours. This experience provided a robust foundation in safeguarding, structure, and emotionally informed practice. Andrew then worked within a CQC-regulated adult care setting, further strengthening his understanding of person-centred care, regulatory compliance, and multidisciplinary working.
Andrew went on to spend two years as Deputy Manager in a children’s residential home, where he played a key role in safeguarding, team leadership, and promoting the emotional wellbeing and development of children and young people. He is known for his calm, reflective approach and his ability to create safe, structured, and nurturing environments where children feel supported and understood.
In his current role, Andrew adopts a child-centred and therapeutic approach, focusing on building trusting relationships and supporting staff to respond consistently and compassionately to behaviour. He is currently completing the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Children and Young People’s Services, reflecting his commitment to continuous development and high standards of care.
